Options For Rescheduling Or Adding Lessons

ADDENDUM 12/13/14
I HAVE NOT BEEN ADDING THE MAKE-UP SLOTS TO THE REGULAR SCHEDULE DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR DUE TO REDUCED DEMAND FOR RESCHEDULING. INSTEAD, I'M HANDLING RESCHEDULED LESSONS ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS. IF YOU NEED TO RESCHEDULE A LESSON, PLEASE CONTACT ME DIRECTLY. I WILL LIKELY RESUME ADDING RESCHEDULING SLOTS DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS, OR IF THERE IS AN INCREASED DEMAND BEFORE JUNE.
Thanks,
John
I've started adding additional time-slots to my teaching calendar, labeled "available for make-up or additional lessons". These are open lesson times for which students may register if they either cannot make their usual lesson time that week, or if they would like to add an extra lesson.
To register for one of these slots, log onto your MusicTeachersHelper account by going to https://johnpatdouglas.musicteachershelper.com - the login box is at the lower left (you can also get there by going to http://www.musicteachershelper.com/login). Under "Upcoming Events" you will see your scheduled lessons, plus a number of events that say "Available Slot" under the Category heading. Choose (click) the slot with the date and time you'd like and click "Register for this event" under Options on the right side of the page. On the resulting "Online event registration" page, click "Submit Request".
If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking "Reset password" or "I forgot my password" (depending on which login page you're using). If you do not remember your username, or if you have any other trouble logging in, please contact me. I would appreciate it if all students/parents would log onto their accounts regularly to check lesson schedules, as well as other lesson information that is available.
A few notes about rescheduling:
- Please make any schedule change requests at least 24 hours ahead of the regular lesson time.
- Continuity is an important element of successful private study. If you're rescheduling a lesson, please try to make it in the same week as the lesson that will be missed.
- Rescheduled lessons should be an exception to the rule. If you find that are rescheduling more than one lesson per month, please contact me and we'll see about finding a regular lesson time that works better for you.
